Female Patient Sexually Assaulted by Hospital Sanitation Worker in Uttar Pradesh: Police Investigation Underway

A 35-year-old female patient was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 25-year-old sanitation worker at a hospital in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The accused reportedly lured the victim to the third floor under false pretenses before attacking her in a toilet. Police have detained the suspect and launched an investigation following the woman's complaint.

Police have detained the 25-year-old accused following the woman's complaint.

Shahjahanpur (UP): A female patient was allegedly sexually assaulted by a sanitation worker at a hospital on Monday, according to police reports.

Authorities have detained the man who allegedly deceived the 35-year-old victim by taking her to a location under the pretense that doctors would be present there, and subsequently raped her.

Police stated that the woman's brother-in-law was receiving treatment at the hospital which falls under the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station.

On Sunday, the woman consumed alcohol at a nearby liquor shop and lost consciousness. Police later admitted her to the same hospital where her relative was being treated, as explained by Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Devendra Kumar.

The following day, when the woman asked Jaishankar, a sanitation worker employed at the hospital, for assistance, he took her to the third floor claiming doctors were available there. He then allegedly sexually assaulted her in the toilet, according to the officer.

After the woman reported the incident, police detained the accused, 25-year-old Jaishankar, and are currently interrogating him. A case has been registered and the woman has been sent for medical examination, authorities confirmed.
