A SpiceJet flight heading to Dubai from Madurai was redirected to Chennai on Monday after encountering a technical issue, according to airport sources and airline representatives.
The problem was identified while the aircraft was in flight, leading to a safe landing at Chennai airport. The flight was carrying 160 passengers, sources reported.
A SpiceJet spokesperson stated, "On October 27, 2025, SpiceJet flight SG 23 operating from Madurai to Dubai was diverted to Chennai due to a technical issue. The aircraft made a normal landing and not an emergency landing. Passengers were deplaned normally."
