A tragic incident occurred in Karnataka on Sunday night when a 30-year-old individual lost his life after being assaulted with a sickle by his acquaintance over an unpaid debt of Rs 2,000.
Manjunath Gowdar, the deceased, had reportedly borrowed Rs 2,000 from his friend Dayanand Gundloor earlier in the week, with a promise to return the amount within seven days. When Manjunath failed to fulfill this commitment, Dayanand confronted him on Sunday evening, which resulted in a heated verbal dispute.
The disagreement escalated dramatically when Dayanand, overcome with anger, attacked Manjunath with a sickle, causing severe injuries. Unfortunately, Manjunath succumbed to his wounds while being transported to a medical facility.
Following the incident, the assailant surrendered himself to local authorities and provided a full confession regarding the violent act.
Law enforcement officials have subsequently filed a murder case against the accused, according to police statements.
