Delhi Air Quality Improves to 'Poor' Category with AQI 261, Anand Vihar Remains in 'Severe' Range

New Delhi:
Delhi experienced a marginal improvement in air quality Saturday morning, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) registering at 261 in the 'poor' category, down from 290 recorded the previous day, according to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data.
Despite the overall improvement, Anand Vihar station recorded 'severe' air quality with an AQI of 415, the highest reading among all monitoring stations in the capital, as reported by the CPCB's Sameer app.
Seven monitoring stations across the city showed 'very poor' AQI levels, while the remaining stations continued to register 'poor' air quality.
The CPCB classifies AQI readings between zero and 50 as 'good', 51-100 as 'satisfactory', 101-200 as 'moderate', 201-300 as 'poor', 301-400 as 'very poor', and 401-500 as 'severe'.
Temperature readings showed the minimum at 16.9 degrees Celsius, slightly below normal by 0.3 degrees, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD) data.
Humidity levels were recorded at 57 percent at 8:30 am.
The IMD forecast predicts a maximum temperature around 32 degrees Celsius, with morning mist giving way to mostly clear skies later in the day.
