The expelled members include a former minister, two former MLAs, and two former MLCs (Representational).
In Patna, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JDU has taken decisive action by expelling 11 leaders from the party due to anti-party activities and violation of its ideological principles ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
According to a statement released by JDU state general secretary Chandan Kumar Singh, these leaders have also been suspended from the party's primary membership.
The disciplinary measures were implemented after the party discovered that all 11 leaders were engaged in activities detrimental to the party's interests across the state, as mentioned in the statement issued Saturday evening.
Among those expelled are former minister Shailesh Kumar, former MLAs Shyam Bahadur Singh and Sudharshan Kumar, along with former MLCs Sanjay Prasad and Ranvijay Singh.
Commenting on the situation, a senior JDU leader explained, "These expelled leaders were actively working against the officially nominated candidates of our party and other NDA alliance partners, directly contradicting our party ideology."
The 243-member Bihar assembly elections are scheduled to take place in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with result announcements set for November 14.
