Brutal Double Murder Caught on Camera in Madhya Pradesh: Brothers Killed in Suspected Land Dispute

Family members of the victims claim they repeatedly called police, but no assistance arrived for hours.

A shocking double murder captured on video showing two brothers being brutally killed with swords, axes, and sticks has thrown police into disarray and sparked outrage across Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district.

The violent attack occurred on the evening of October 21 in Balbahara village under the Keshavhi police outpost jurisdiction. A group led by Anurag Sharma invaded an auto parts shop where three brothers were sitting after performing Diwali lamp-lighting rituals. According to witnesses, approximately 10 attackers armed with deadly weapons broke down the shop door and forcibly removed the brothers. The assailants struck the victims with extreme violence, breaking limbs and inflicting severe head injuries in a frenzied attack.

The video reportedly documents the attackers systematically fracturing the victims' extremities while others cheer and record the violence.

One brother died immediately at the scene. The remaining two were transported to Shahdol Medical College, where the second brother succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The third brother, Satish, was subsequently transferred to Bilaspur and remains in critical condition.

Relatives of the victims allege they made multiple calls to police, but assistance failed to arrive for hours while the attackers continued their violent rampage. They have explicitly accused the outpost officer in charge, Ashish Jharia, of negligence and possible complicity.

On October 22, grieving family members and villagers blocked roadways demanding justice. The District Collector and Superintendent of Police arrived at the scene and promised swift action. Following the public outcry, the Keshavhi outpost officer was line-attached, and the Budhar police station officer in charge was removed from duty that night.

Before his death, victim Rahul Tiwari provided a brief statement identifying Anurag Sharma and associates as the attackers and describing the assault, according to police.

Authorities have arrested eight suspects including Sharma, while police teams continue searching for additional perpetrators who remain at large.

Preliminary investigations indicate the murders resulted from a longstanding land dispute between the brothers and the accused.
