UP Minister Narrowly Escapes Road Accident After Truck Hits Her Car

The Agra-Lucknow Expressway became the scene of a near-tragic incident on Friday night when Uttar Pradesh Minister Baby Rani Maurya narrowly escaped a serious road accident.

Firozabad, UP: Uttar Pradesh Minister for Women Welfare and Child Development, Baby Rani Maurya, had a fortunate escape from what could have been a severe road accident while traveling on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway late Friday.

The cabinet minister was returning to Lucknow after completing her official engagements in Hathras district when the incident occurred. The accident happened near the 56th kilometer mark in Firozabad district, at a section where traffic from both directions had been temporarily channeled into a single lane.

A truck traveling ahead of Minister Maurya's vehicle suddenly experienced a tire burst, causing the driver to lose control. The truck subsequently collided with the minister's car. Thankfully, due to the quick reactions and skilled maneuvering by the minister's driver, a potentially fatal accident was averted. While the minister's vehicle sustained significant damage, Maurya herself emerged unharmed from the collision.

Following the incident, the minister shared on social media: "परमपिता परमेश्वर की असीम कृपा एवं आप सभी मेरे प्रिय शुभचिंतक, देवतुल्य जनता जनता जनार्दन के असीम आशीर्वाद से आगरा लखनऊ एक्सप्रेसवे पर हुए भीषण सड़क हादसे में सकुशल हूं।"

Police personnel promptly arrived at the accident scene and impounded the truck involved in the collision. Minister Maurya was safely transferred to an alternative vehicle to continue her journey to Lucknow.

In the aftermath of the incident, the minister instructed authorities to implement stringent safety measures along the expressway to prevent similar accidents in the future. She emphasized the importance of active monitoring systems and rapid response protocols. The incident is expected to prompt a comprehensive review of existing safety procedures on the expressway.

In a separate but equally concerning incident, three individuals lost their lives on Wednesday afternoon in a collision between a motorcycle and a truck near Tengra mod in the Ramnagar police station jurisdiction of Varanasi, according to officials.

Additional Commissioner of Police, Atul Anjan, confirmed that officials promptly investigated the accident site and arranged for the victims' bodies to be transported to the mortuary.

"Around 12:30 PM today, a tragic incident was reported from Tengra Mod under Ramnagar Police Station, in which three people lost their lives. It was a motorcycle accident involving a truck. I, along with officials from the local police station, immediately inspected the accident site. The bodies were sent to the mortuary for further legal procedures," Atul Anjan informed ANI.
