Communal Tensions Erupt in Kasganj: Car Parking Dispute Leads to Violence Between Communities

In Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj district, a seemingly trivial dispute over car parking escalated into a violent communal clash on Thursday evening in Soron town. The incident, which involved firing and stone throwing between two communities, resulted in at least one person being injured. Authorities quickly deployed police forces to contain the situation and have since arrested three individuals in connection with the violence.

The incident began when an individual objected to Riyaz Ahmed's car being parked along the roadside, claiming it obstructed his path. What started as a request to relocate the vehicle rapidly deteriorated when the complainant allegedly kicked the car in frustration. This action promptly drew members from both communities to the scene, causing tensions to rise dramatically.

According to sources, some individuals later filed a complaint at the local police station. The situation intensified when, upon their return, they were reportedly confronted by people from the opposing group. This second encounter reignited hostilities, resulting in stone throwing and gunfire that spread panic throughout the neighborhood.

Law enforcement responded swiftly to emergency calls, deploying additional forces to sensitive locations to prevent further violence.

Riyaz Ahmed, who sustained injuries during the clash, received initial treatment at a local medical facility before being transferred to Aligarh Medical College for more comprehensive care.

Sushil Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police for Kasganj, personally inspected the area to evaluate the situation. He confirmed that police presence has been strengthened, though he described the current situation as under control. "We conducted late-night raids at multiple locations, arrested three suspects, and recovered some weapons," Kumar stated.
