Gorakhpur:

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated on Tuesday that historical narratives frequently discuss British and French colonialism while neglecting "political Islam," which he asserted has caused the most significant damage to Sanatan Dharma.

Speaking at an event in Gorakhpur, he highlighted how renowned warriors including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Guru Gobind Singh, Maharana Pratap, and Maharana Sanga fought battles against "political Islam."

"Our forefathers engaged in major conflicts against political Islam, yet this historical aspect remains largely unexamined," Adityanath remarked at the 'Vichar-Parivar Kutumb Sneh Milan' and 'Deepotsav Se Rashtrotsav' programs organized by the Gorakhpur division commemorating the RSS centenary year.

The chief minister commended the RSS for its crucial contribution to constructing the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Emphasizing the "threats posed by political Islam," he observed that while national discourse addresses resistance to colonialism, it often fails to recognize this ideological challenge.

"Our ancestors fought not just against British and French forces but also against political Islam; figures like Veer Shivaji and Maharana Pratap exemplify this struggle. There is discussion about British colonialism and French colonialism, but political Islam, which undermined faith, remains undiscussed," Adityanath stated.

He noted that during the RSS's century-long journey, seemingly impossible achievements became reality.

"While Samajwadi Party members, Congress, and the INDIA bloc questioned the Ram Temple, RSS volunteers maintained their determination that the temple would be constructed.

"The Sangh weathered restrictions, and its volunteers faced police batons and gunfire. Today, the magnificent Ram Temple stands as evidence of their unwavering dedication," Adityanath said.

He claimed that initiatives promoting "political Islam" continue under various disguises.

The chief minister informed attendees that Uttar Pradesh has prohibited the sale of Halal-certified products, alleging that profits from such sales financed conversion activities, love jihad, and terrorism.

Discussing RSS centenary initiatives, Adityanath outlined five essential transformations: social harmony, family values, environmental protection, self-reliance through indigenous products, and civic responsibility, describing these as the foundation for a developed India.

"For a developed society and nation to emerge, society must lead, with government following," he concluded.
