All domestic IndiGo flights aside from specific numbered services will continue operations from Terminal 1, as confirmed by the airline.
New Delhi:
IndiGo will recommence operations from Terminal 2 of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport beginning October 26, following a temporary relocation earlier this year due to maintenance activities, India's leading low-cost carrier announced on Tuesday.
This strategic move is part of the airline's updated terminal distribution plan designed to enhance passenger experience and optimize operational efficiency across the airport facilities.
The carrier will now conduct operations across all three terminals -- T1, T2, and T3 -- with a carefully restructured allocation of flight numbers to boost airport functionality and traveler convenience.
According to the revised plan, all IndiGo flights designated with numbers 6E 2000 through 6E 2999 will operate to and from Terminal 2, which is now reopening for IndiGo services.
Flights numbered 6E 5000 to 6E 5999, along with all international services, will depart from and arrive at Terminal 3.
All remaining domestic IndiGo flights will maintain operations from Terminal 1, the airline confirmed.
"With the objective of enhancing customer convenience and airport efficiency, IndiGo will operate flights numbered 6E 2000 – 6E 2999 to/from Terminal 2, and flights numbered 6E 5000 – 6E 5999, along with all international departures, to/from Terminal 3. All other domestic flights will continue to operate to/from Terminal 1," the airline stated.
This terminal reorganization follows a temporary shift in April 2025, when all IndiGo services were transferred from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 to accommodate necessary maintenance work.
With T2's reopening, the airline has now restored full operations across all terminals at the Delhi airport.
IndiGo has urged passengers to verify their flight number and corresponding terminal information carefully before traveling, as these terminal adjustments may be accompanied by flight schedule modifications.
Travelers can access the most current information via IndiGo's official website or mobile application.
Additionally, IndiGo is expanding its international network with the introduction of daily direct flights connecting New Delhi and Guangzhou, China, commencing November 10.
These routes will be serviced by the airline's Airbus A320 aircraft. The Delhi departure is scheduled for 9:45 PM, arriving in Guangzhou at 4:40 AM, while the return flight will depart at 5:50 AM, landing in Delhi at 10:10 AM.
This development represents a significant milestone in reestablishing air links between India and China following an extended pause since 2020.
IndiGo recently reinstated daily flights between Kolkata and Guangzhou on October 26, emerging as one of the first Indian airlines to resume direct services to China.
