Noida: A tragic incident unfolded in Greater Noida on Monday when two men were fatally shot following a dispute over drainage water flow in Sathli village.

Police officials reported that the violence erupted after a heated argument between two groups regarding the passage of water through a drain in the area under Jarcha police station jurisdiction.

The alleged perpetrators, identified as Prince Bhati, Bobby Tongad, and Manoj Nagar, reportedly opened fire during the altercation, resulting in the deaths of 21-year-old Dipanshu Bhati and his 55-year-old uncle, Ajaypal Bhati.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Saad Mian Khan stated, "We received a complaint from local resident Anup Bhati informing us that his nephew and brother had been shot dead during the dispute. The victims' bodies have been sent for postmortem examination, and we have registered an FIR in the case."

In the aftermath of the shootings, tension spread throughout the village as residents blocked roads, demanding immediate and strict action against those responsible. Police forces were promptly deployed to maintain law and order in the area.

A police officer from Jarcha police station confirmed, "Peace has been restored in the area, and four specialized police teams have been formed to apprehend those involved in the crime. Several suspects have already been taken into custody." The officer added that further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
