Tej Pratap Yadav, who was previously expelled from the RJD, now faces legal issues.
The elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and current Janshakti Janta Dal chief, Tej Pratap Yadav, has been charged with allegedly violating the model code of conduct during his nomination filing process for the Mahua assembly constituency in Bihar's Vaishali district, according to police reports.
A statement released by district police on Sunday revealed that the Mahua Circle Officer filed a complaint after a viral social media video showed Yadav using an SUV with a police logo and beacon light during his nomination submission procession on October 16.
"After thorough investigation, it was determined that the police logo and beacon light on the vehicle were privately installed, resulting in a case being registered for election code of conduct violation," stated the police report.
Yadav established his new political party after being expelled from the RJD on May 25 for a six-year period by his father. The expulsion reportedly followed his confession about being 'in a relationship' with a woman.
He subsequently deleted the Facebook post, claiming his page had been 'hacked.' Lalu Prasad also publicly disowned Tej Pratap, citing his "irresponsible behavior" as the reason.
Shortly after his RJD expulsion, Tej Pratap Yadav alleged that a "conspiracy" existed to create division between him and his younger brother, Tejashwi Yadav.
He expressed these sentiments through multiple posts on his X handle, attributing the family crisis to 'Jaichand,' a term metaphorically used to describe traitors.
