Fatal Hit-and-Run in Thane: Woman Killed, Man Injured in Motorcycle Collision on Ghodbunder Road

Authorities are actively pursuing the vehicle and driver responsible for the incident.

In a tragic hit-and-run accident in Thane city, Maharashtra, a woman lost her life and a man sustained injuries when their motorcycle was struck by an unidentified vehicle, according to police reports on Monday.

The incident took place at approximately 11:30 PM on Sunday beneath a skywalk bridge near Vijay Garden housing complex on Ghodbunder Road.

According to an official from Kasarwadavali police station, the victims were returning from a social gathering when their two-wheeler was hit by an unknown vehicle.

The woman, identified only as Swati, who was the pillion rider, fell beneath the wheels of the offending vehicle and suffered fatal head injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her male companion sustained a fractured hand in the collision and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital where he is currently receiving medical treatment.

The deceased woman's body has been transferred to a medical facility for post-mortem examination.

Law enforcement officials are conducting an intensive search to locate the vehicle involved and apprehend its driver, the police representative confirmed.
