The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released its fourth list containing 12 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections on Monday, with today being the final day for filing nominations for the second phase of polling.
With this fourth list announcement, AAP has now declared candidates for a total of 132 seats in the Bihar legislative assembly.
Notable candidates in this latest announcement include Kumar Kunal contesting from Madhuban constituency, Brij Bhushan (Navin) from Sapaul, and Anil Kumar who will contest from Gaya Town.
The party had earlier released its third list featuring 50 candidates on October 18. AAP has decided to contest the Bihar elections independently without forming any alliance with other political parties.
Elections for all 243 assembly constituencies in Bihar will be conducted in two phases scheduled for November 6 and November 11, with results to be announced on November 14.
Meanwhile, the opposition Mahagathbandhan alliance continues to face internal challenges, failing to finalize its seat-sharing arrangement even by Sunday.
October 20 marks the deadline for filing nominations for the second phase of the Bihar Assembly Election. It also serves as the last date for candidates to withdraw nominations for the first phase, which covers 121 constituencies.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has announced its decision to contest the elections independently after the Mahagathbandhan, comprising RJD and Congress, failed to reach a consensus on seat distribution for the first phase before Friday's nomination deadline.
Congress released its second list of candidates amid the ongoing seat-sharing crisis within the Mahagathbandhan on Saturday, following its first list of 48 candidates announced on October 17.
In contrast, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has already finalized its seat-sharing arrangement and commenced campaign activities across key constituencies.
The BJP has announced candidates for all 101 seats allocated to it under the NDA's seat-sharing formula.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to begin his election campaign for the Bihar Assembly polls from October 24.
