Ayodhya Eyes Guinness Record, To Light 26 Lakh Diyas On Deepotsav Today

Ayodhya prepares to illuminate its sacred grounds with an unprecedented 26,11,101 diyas during this year's Deepotsav celebration, commencing today to honor Lord Shri Ram's homecoming.

The magnificent display will spread across Ram Ki Paidi and 56 ghats, creating a breathtaking spiritual spectacle that promises to showcase Ayodhya's religious and cultural heritage to the world.

Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's guidance, Deepotsav has evolved into a powerful symbol of faith, unity, and devotion, reinforcing Ayodhya's growing status as a global spiritual and tourism destination.

More than 10,000 participants, including college and university volunteers, are collaborating in this monumental effort to surpass last year's illumination record. The meticulous process begins today with the preparation of wicks and oil, culminating in the evening lighting ceremony.

Guinness World Records Adjudicator Richard Stenning has outlined a comprehensive verification process for this record attempt. The system includes QR code tracking for participants entering the venue and division of the area into monitored zones, each supervised by two stewards ensuring proper lamp lighting.

The stewards carefully document any discrepancies, such as unlit lamps, which are then deducted from the final count to maintain accuracy in the record.

This remarkable celebration is expected to mark a historic milestone for Ayodhya, as the holy city radiates with millions of lamps reflecting the collective devotion of countless hearts.
