Pregnant Tribal Woman Murdered by Father-in-Law in Suspected Honour Killing Case in Telangana

A tragic incident occurred in Telangana's Kumuram Bheem Asifabad District on Saturday, where a pregnant woman was allegedly murdered by her father-in-law in what appears to be a case of honour killing. According to police reports, the father-in-law was opposed to his son's marriage to the woman.

The victim, a woman in her twenties belonging to the Scheduled Tribe community, was nine months pregnant when she was fatally attacked with an axe by her father-in-law in Dahegaon mandal.

Police officials stated that while they suspect an honour killing, the exact motive is still under investigation. Preliminary findings indicate that the accused objected to his son marrying outside their caste.

Authorities have taken the father-in-law into custody, and the investigation is ongoing to gather more details about this tragic incident.
