Residents of Badagalapura village have been living in constant fear for several weeks due to frequent tiger appearances in their area.
In Mysuru district's Saragur taluk, a horrifying tiger attack was captured on video showing villagers frantically climbing trees to protect themselves as the predator charged through a field.
The attack occurred Thursday morning, leaving Mahadev, a 34-year-old farmer, severely injured. The disturbing footage reveals the tiger suddenly emerging from nearby bushes and attacking a group of agricultural workers. While most individuals managed to climb trees for safety, Mahadev was unfortunately caught by the tiger before he could escape.
According to witnesses, the tiger pulled Mahadev to the ground and inflicted serious injuries to his face and head. He remains in critical condition following the attack.
Local residents reported they had been experiencing fear for weeks as tigers were repeatedly spotted in the vicinity. Despite these sightings, the Forest Department had only just initiated a combing operation to locate and capture the animal when this attack happened.
Furious villagers have accused forest officials of negligence, claiming this attack could have been prevented had timely action been taken after initial reports.
In response to the incident, forest authorities have now strengthened their efforts to locate and tranquilize the tiger, utilizing kumki elephants and drone technology throughout the area to prevent additional attacks.
