Bihar Liquor Ban: Ingenious Hiding Spot Reveals 29 Alcohol Bottles in Toilet Tank

In prohibition-enforced Bihar, police uncovered an unusual smuggling tactic when they discovered 29 liquor bottles hidden inside a toilet tank during a raid on a suspected trader's home. Despite the state's 2016 alcohol ban, implemented to improve social conditions and reduce violence, creative circumvention methods continue to challenge enforcement efforts.

In 'dry' Bihar, police discovered a peculiar hiding spot during a raid on a suspected liquor trader's residence.

Following intelligence information, law enforcement officers in Nawada district searched the home of Bikki Kumar and uncovered 29 bottles of alcohol concealed in a tank beneath the toilet commode.

Station House Officer Dhanveer Kumar confirmed the suspect's arrest. The authorities also confiscated cash and a scooter from the property, which is situated in the Teli Tola Par Nawada area under Bundelkhand police station jurisdiction.

The Nitish Kumar administration implemented a statewide prohibition on the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in April 2016. This ban was introduced with the stated aims of enhancing law and order, decreasing domestic violence incidents, and improving social and health conditions across Bihar.

Despite these stringent regulations, liquor traders throughout the state continue to develop innovative methods for transporting, selling, and producing alcohol, circumventing the prohibition measures.
