IndiGo Partners with Digi Yatra: Revolutionizing Air Travel with Seamless Biometric Boarding Technology

Digi Yatra has established a biometric ecosystem leveraging facial recognition technology to facilitate smooth passenger processing at airports.

IndiGo and Digi Yatra have successfully completed an app-to-app integration that enables seamless transfer of boarding passes between their respective mobile applications.

Digi Yatra operates as a Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) based system that utilizes facial biometric technology to provide contactless and efficient passenger processing at airports.

The platform delivers a contactless and secure travel experience for passengers, supporting biometric-enabled journeys while ensuring data privacy, regulatory compliance, and enhanced passenger experience through digitalization of the entire check-in and boarding process.

"Through this partnership, IndiGo passengers can now share their boarding pass directly with the Digi Yatra app by simply clicking 'Share with Digi Yatra' in the IndiGo app after completing their web check-in, eliminating the need to manually scan QR codes on physical boarding passes or upload them digitally. This previously caused additional steps and delays for travelers," IndiGo announced in a press release.

The system is designed to ensure user consent at every stage, with only necessary information being shared with Digi Yatra airport verifiers. This automated, secure process between applications maintains the highest standards of integrity and authenticity for boarding passes. "It follows privacy by design principles as the entire transaction occurs offline on the phone through deep linking, without any server or cloud involvement," the release stated.
