Fatal Accident in Chandigarh: Speeding Thar Hits College Sisters, One Dead and Driver At Large

A tragic hit-and-run incident in Chandigarh's Sector 46 resulted in the death of a college student when a speeding Mahindra Thar struck two sisters waiting for transportation. While one victim succumbed to injuries, her sister remains hospitalized as police continue their search for the driver who fled the scene.

A tragic incident occurred in Chandigarh's Sector 46 on Wednesday when a speeding Mahindra Thar struck two sisters, resulting in the death of one.

Sojef and Isha, both from the Burali Area and students at Dev Samaj College for Women, were the victims of this unfortunate accident. Sojef lost her life while Isha sustained serious injuries.

The sisters were waiting for an auto rickshaw on the roadside after returning from college when the speeding vehicle hit them. The driver immediately abandoned the vehicle and fled from the accident scene.

Local residents quickly transported both sisters to the Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) in Sector 32. Despite medical efforts, Sojef succumbed to her injuries, while Isha remains under medical care.

Law enforcement officials have identified details about the driver through the Thar's registration number. Their investigation led them to an address in Sector 21, but they discovered the driver no longer resides there. The police investigation continues as they review CCTV footage to track down the accused driver.

In related news, a Haryana IPS Officer, Y Puran Kumar, was cremated in Chandigarh eight days after his suicide.
