25 Transgender Individuals Hospitalized in Indore After Alleged Phenyl Consumption Incident

Around 25 members of the transgender community in Indore were admitted to Maharaja Yashwantrao Hospital following claims of phenyl consumption. Officials are investigating the substance consumed and the motivation behind the incident, which may be related to a dispute between local transgender groups.

Around 25 individuals from the transgender community in Indore were admitted to a government hospital after they claimed to have consumed phenyl together on Wednesday night.

Dr. Basant Kumar Ningwal, Superintendent-in-Charge of the government-run Maharaja Yashwantrao Hospital (MYH), stated to PTI, "Around 25 people from the transgender community have been admitted to our hospital. They have claimed to have consumed phenyl together, but this cannot be immediately confirmed." He added that none of the patients was in a critical condition.

The motivation behind this mass action by the transgender persons remains unclear at this time.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dandotiya commented on the situation, saying, "Only after investigation will it become clear as to what substance the transgender community people had consumed, and why."

Another police officer suggested that this incident might be connected to a dispute between two local transgender community groups in Indore.
