Authorities in Telangana have apprehended a home guard and an RMP doctor in relation to the alleged rape and murder of a 29-year-old woman on Wednesday. The arrests followed a complaint filed by the victim's mother, which prompted authorities to register a case involving serious charges, including rape, murder, and violations of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

ACP V. Srikanth Goud of Shamshabad in Cybearabad identified the victim as Byagari Mounika, who was employed in the private sector.

According to police reports, Mounika had maintained a seven-year relationship with the main suspect, 39-year-old Banuri Madhusudan, a Home Guard assigned to the Shamshabad Fingerprint Team. Investigators stated that Madhusudan allegedly sexually assaulted her with false promises of marriage.

Subsequently, Mounika became pregnant, and Madhusudan reportedly pressured her to terminate the pregnancy. He consulted Gaddamedi Padmaja, a 54-year-old RMP doctor practicing in Palamakula village.

Following the procedure, the victim experienced persistent bleeding, prompting Madhusudan to rush her to a hospital, where medical staff pronounced her dead during treatment.

Based on the victim's mother's complaint, Telangana Police registered a case of rape and murder. Additionally, provisions of the SC/ST Act were invoked against both the home guard and the RMP doctor. Both individuals have been placed under judicial remand.

In a separate incident, Telangana police disrupted a mujra party at Chandra Resorts within the jurisdiction of Maheshwaram police station in Rangareddy district, detaining 35 individuals, including nine women. The gathering was reportedly organized by fertilizer company dealers and featured alcohol consumption and dancing between men and women. However, authorities have not yet filed formal charges.
