Tragic Murder-Suicide in UP: Man Kills Wife Over Suspected Infidelity Before Taking His Own Life

In Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur district, a tragic incident occurred where a man fatally shot his wife before taking his own life, police reported on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Mukesh Nishad, 32, and his wife Gudia Devi, 26.

According to police investigations, Mukesh, who was employed in Delhi, had returned to his village approximately a week ago. Upon his arrival, he reportedly discovered his wife's alleged relationship with a neighbor, resulting in frequent arguments between the couple.

On Saturday night, a heated dispute escalated into violence. In a moment of rage, Mukesh allegedly shot his wife in the neck before using the same country-made pistol to end his own life, stated SHO Hanuman Pratap Singh Suryavanshi.

The couple's three young daughters and parents were sleeping in another room when they were awakened by gunshots. They immediately raised an alarm, causing villagers to rush to the scene where they discovered the couple lying in blood. The police were promptly notified.

Additional SP Mahendra Pal Singh confirmed, "A country-made pistol was recovered from the scene, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem."

A forensic team was dispatched to gather evidence from the location.

Local residents informed police that rumors regarding Gudia's alleged extramarital relationship had been circulating within the community, causing Mukesh significant distress.

Police have registered a case and launched a thorough investigation into the incident.
