New Delhi:

Police have arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly stabbing another individual over an unpaid loan of Rs 5,000 in Delhi's Rohini area.

According to a senior police officer, authorities received information on October 5 from Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital regarding a patient named Ravi, age 22, from Indira JJ Camp in Rohini. The victim had been admitted with critical stab wounds to his neck.

Following the incident, law enforcement registered a case under section 109(1) (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the South Rohini police station.

The suspect, identified as Ritik alias Sawan, was subsequently apprehended after investigators analyzed CCTV footage and gathered intelligence inputs from the area.

During questioning, the accused confessed that he attacked the victim because of his failure to repay a Rs 5,000 loan. Police recovered the weapon used in the assault—a knife—from the suspect's possession.

Authorities revealed that Sawan has a criminal history, having been previously implicated in six other criminal cases. The investigation into this incident continues.
