28-Year-Old Software Engineer Dies by Suicide in Gurugram: Mental Health Concerns Among Tech Workers

Police reported on Wednesday that a 28-year-old software engineer allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his Bhondsi residence.

Subham Meena had married a Delhi woman just six months ago through a love marriage and was residing with her near Mata Colony in the Nayagaon area.

He did not leave any suicide note explaining his actions.

According to authorities, Shubham, originally from Alwar, Rajasthan, was employed as a software engineer at an MNC with an annual salary package of Rs 20 lakh.

On Tuesday afternoon, he exited his room, and after he didn't return for an extended period, his wife went searching for him, police stated.

Upon checking upstairs, she discovered him hanging from a window.

Neighbors informed police that Shubham had been receiving treatment for depression and had previously attempted suicide.

"The motivation behind the suicide remains unclear as no suicide note was recovered. It has been discovered that Shubham was dealing with depression. No complaint was filed by the family," said Sub-Inspector Vinod Kumar, who responded to the suicide call.

While Shubham primarily worked from home, his wife is pursuing higher education, he added.
