Two Soldiers Missing During Patrol in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag Forest

Two Indian army soldiers have gone missing while on patrol duty in the Gadol forest area of Kokernag, Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir. Search operations are underway but hampered by adverse weather conditions. The area has a history of security incidents, including deadly encounters in recent years.

Two army soldiers have gone missing in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district during patrol operations in a densely forested area.

The soldiers lost contact with their patrol formation in the Gadol forest of Kokernag. According to a senior police officer, communication with the soldiers was lost two days ago, with adverse weather conditions and snowfall hampering search efforts.

Search operations have been initiated to locate the missing soldiers. Currently, there is no evidence suggesting terrorist involvement in their disappearance.

The Gadol forest region has been the site of significant security incidents previously. Last year, a violent gun battle in the area resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and one civilian. Two years prior, five security personnel, including an Army commanding officer, a Major, and a deputy superintendent of police, were killed during operations in the same region.
