A brutal roadside murder occurred in Karnataka's Gangavathi when BJP Yuva Morcha leader Venkatesh Kuruba, 31, was fatally attacked in the early hours of the morning.
The young political leader was traveling on his motorcycle when assailants in a car deliberately rammed into his bike from behind. Following the collision, several men armed with knives and machetes emerged from the vehicle and launched a vicious attack on Kuruba.
The entire horrific incident was captured by a nearby CCTV camera, which recorded the attackers repeatedly striking the victim before fleeing the scene.
Ram L Arasiddi, Superintendent of Police for Koppal district, has classified the killing as a revenge attack. "In 2003, Venkatesh helped police arrest the accused in a case. The same people are involved in this murder," he explained to reporters.
Law enforcement has initiated an investigation and detained four individuals in connection with the crime. Police are examining all possible angles, including how the perpetrators knew Venkatesh would be traveling alone on that particular route at approximately 2:30 AM.
BY Vijayendra, the state BJP chief, expressed his condolences: "The news of the tragic demise of Venkatesh, who was the president of the Yuva Morcha in Gangavati taluk of Koppal district, is heartbreaking. I express my condolences for his death. May Venkatesh's soul attain eternal peace, and may God grant strength to his family to bear this sorrow."
According to witnesses who were friends of the victim, the attack was carried out by a group of seven to eight individuals. These witnesses have provided their accounts to the investigating officers as the case continues to develop.
