Bengaluru Professor Arrested for Sexually Harassing Student Under Pretext of Academic Help

A 45-year-old department head at a prestigious Bengaluru college has been arrested on sexual harassment charges after allegedly inviting a BCA student to his home for "special classes." The professor, Sanjeev Kumar Mandal, promised better grades and attendance in exchange for inappropriate advances, leading to a police complaint and ongoing investigation by Tilaknagar Police.

Bengaluru Professor Calls Student Home For Classes, Arrested For Harassment

A 45-year-old department head at a leading private college in Bengaluru has been taken into custody for allegedly harassing a student under the guise of academic assistance. Sanjeev Kumar Mandal faces sexual harassment charges following the incident.

According to reports, Mandal invited a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) student to his residence claiming to offer "special classes." His arrest came after a woman filed a complaint at the Tilaknagar Police Station two days prior, according to sources.

The professor had allegedly promised to help the student improve her academic performance and address attendance issues. He had also communicated with her mother to establish trust. When the student arrived at his home on September 25, she discovered that his family members were absent.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that the professor engaged in inappropriate behavior at his residence. Reports indicate he promised better grades and attendance if she yielded to his advances.

After experiencing this disturbing behavior, the student informed her parents, who subsequently filed a police report. The Tilaknagar Police are currently conducting an investigation into the matter.
