A wedding in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh was called off when the groom's family became upset over the absence of mutton biryani and fried fish on the engagement menu, despite the bride's family having already fulfilled several expensive demands including a motorcycle and car. The dispute escalated into a public confrontation just days before the planned ceremony.

No Mutton Biryani, Fried Fish On Menu, UP Groom Calls Off Engagement

In Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, a wedding was abruptly canceled when the groom's family became upset over the absence of mutton biryani and fried fish from the engagement menu.

Ikra Parveen from Gondi Salai village had been arranged to marry a man from Ahtasaini village in Garhmukteshwar, with the wedding scheduled for October 17. However, the engagement ceremony ended in disappointment when the groom's side decided to call off the wedding entirely.

The groom's family had arrived at the bride's residence carrying the 'Lal Khat', a traditional Muslim wedding invitation letter. What began as a celebratory occasion quickly deteriorated into chaos after the meal was served. Upon discovering that mutton biryani and fried fish were not included in the menu, the groom's relatives created a significant disturbance.

According to the bride's family, they had already fulfilled numerous demands from the groom's side, including providing a bullet motorcycle and a Scorpio car. Despite these generous offerings, the groom's family insisted they would not proceed with the wedding procession unless they were served the specific dishes they desired.

Faisal Chaudhary, a relative of the bride, stated that the groom's family explicitly declared they would not bring the baraat (wedding procession) without these food items being served.

The disagreement escalated into a public confrontation. Police reported that approximately 40 members of the groom's family had attended the ceremony when the dispute erupted. Vijay Gupta, the police station in-charge, confirmed that "There was a heated argument between both sides over the food," adding that law enforcement had heard accounts from both parties and was taking appropriate action.

The dispute brought the relationship to a sudden end, just ten days before the planned wedding celebration.
