New Delhi:
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has made remarks that may provoke strong reactions, stating that Brahmins "ignite the flame of knowledge in our society" and advocating that all governments should prioritize this community's welfare.
Speaking at the All India Brahmin Conference organized by Shri Brahmin Sabha in Delhi's Pitampura yesterday, the Chief Minister emphasized, "The Brahmin community is truly igniting the flame of knowledge in our society. They venerate not only scriptures but also weapons. Today, both weapons and scriptures are essential for protecting our society and nation."
She further stated, "The Brahmin community has consistently served society by kindling the flame of knowledge, promoting religious values, and fostering goodwill. Regardless of which political party holds power, governments should work towards the welfare and advancement of the Brahmin community."
Criticizing previous Delhi administrations, she remarked, "Please continue offering your suggestions on advancing our cause in Delhi, as we face a significant backlog. For 27 years, Delhi's progress has been sluggish. Now is the time to accelerate development, as neighboring states appear to have surpassed us. By working collectively for Delhi and its residents, we can establish a developed Delhi."
Chief Minister Gupta also expressed her government's commitment to providing equal opportunities to all communities while honoring their societal contributions. She concluded that "only a united society can achieve genuine progress."
