Tejashwi Yadav Questions Bihar CM Nitish Kumar's Mental Health After Erratic Behavior at PM Modi's Function

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has raised serious concerns about Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's mental fitness to govern following what he described as "erratic behavior" during Prime Minister Modi's virtual function. The opposition leader suggested a political conspiracy might be behind Kumar's condition, while JD(U) representatives firmly rejected these allegations, creating further tension in Bihar's already charged political landscape.

Tejashwi Yadav stated, "Clearly the Chief Minister no longer has the ability to run his government."

Patna:

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday claimed that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's "erratic" behavior at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's function a day earlier has raised new concerns about his "mental health" and "capacity to govern."

Tejashwi Yadav, a former Deputy Chief Minister who now serves as opposition leader, posted on his X handle a video of the function held in New Delhi, which the chief minister attended virtually from his residence.

"Could this mental condition of the Chief Minister be attributed to his close associates possibly tampering with his food at BJP's direction?" Tejashwi Yadav questioned in his social media post.

Speaking to reporters later, the young leader remarked, "For some time now, the Chief Minister has been exhibiting behavior suggesting he's not in a sound mental state. He has made inappropriate comments about my mother Rabri Devi, herself a former Chief Minister, and women generally. Once, cameras caught him behaving inappropriately during the national anthem."

"Yesterday provided another example of his erratic conduct," said the RJD leader, referencing video footage showing Kumar staring with folded hands at his computer screen while senior BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary delivered his speech.

Tejashwi Yadav declared, "Clearly the Chief Minister no longer has the ability to run his government. A syndicate is controlling everything and will be exposed soon."

Responding forcefully to the opposition leader's allegations, Neeraj Kumar, MLC and spokesman for the JD(U) led by the chief minister, said, "Nitish Kumar is the one who restored Bihar's political, social and economic health. Tejashwi Yadav would do better to worry about his ailing father Lalu Prasad, the RJD president."

When asked about a press conference held by Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, who alleged that lawlessness and corruption were widespread during Bihar's 15 years under Lalu Prasad and subsequently Rabri Devi, the RJD leader replied, "The BJP has shared power in the state for 20 years. They have achieved little and lack vision for the future. That's why they're defaming their opponents."
