Five individuals are currently receiving medical treatment following a tragic incident in Farrukhabad.
Two people lost their lives and five others sustained injuries in an explosion that occurred at a coaching center in Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.
Police investigators have indicated that the blast likely resulted from an accumulation of concentrated methane gas in a septic tank located in the basement of the facility.
SP Arti Singh of Farrukhabad stated to reporters, "We received notification about the incident at approximately 3:19 pm in the Kadri Gate Police Station area. Field units and fire services are actively working at the location. Initial assessment suggests the explosion happened at a coaching institute with a septic tank in the basement. The blast appears to have been caused by excessive methane concentration. A switchboard was also discovered nearby, which may have triggered the explosion. The injured individuals are currently under medical care, and an investigation is ongoing."
Farrukhabad District Magistrate Ashutosh Kumar Dwivedi informed ANI that an investigative committee has been established under the City Magistrate's leadership to determine the precise cause of the incident.
"An explosion occurred in the septic tank of a coaching center. Preliminary findings attribute the blast to the accumulation of concentrated methane gas that was not properly ventilated. Two fatalities have been confirmed, while five people are currently undergoing medical treatment. A committee headed by the City Magistrate has been formed to thoroughly investigate the cause of this unfortunate incident," the DM explained.
Further details regarding the incident are still forthcoming.
