Tragic Murder-Suicide in Maharashtra: Father Drowns Infant Son Before Taking His Own Life

A four-month-old boy was discovered drowned in a half-filled blue drum, with police in Maharashtra confirming Saturday that the father had killed his son before taking his own life.

The tragic event occurred in Talwada Village within Georai Taluka of Beed district.

According to police reports, Amol Sonavane deliberately drowned his infant son by placing him in a drum partially filled with water.

Heartbreaking images revealed the child dressed in a pink T-shirt and diaper, found face down in the water with a plastic pink mug floating nearby.

Police indicated that Amol had previously attempted suicide.

Just days prior to this incident, both Amol and his wife had attempted suicide following a domestic dispute, but were rescued in time.

The couple had been discharged from a local hospital on Thursday.

The bodies of both father and son have been transferred to Talwara Primary Health Center for post-mortem examination.

Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.
