Woman Delivers Healthy Baby Girl at Ambala Railway Station During Journey From Jammu to Kanpur

Officials reported on Saturday that a woman experiencing labor pains during her train journey successfully delivered a healthy baby girl at the Ambala railway station.

The expectant mother was traveling on a train from Jammu Tawi to Kanpur when she unexpectedly went into labor Friday night. When the train made its scheduled stop at Ambala Cantt railway station, Railway Police personnel quickly responded with assistance from a medical team, ensuring the safety of both mother and child.

The woman was accompanied by her husband as they traveled from Jammu to Uttar Pradesh.

Railway Police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Hans Raj was on duty at the station when a passenger alerted him about a woman in a general coach of the Jammu-Kanpur Express who was experiencing labor pains.

Upon receiving this information, ASI Hans Raj and female constable Jyoti immediately boarded the coach during the train's scheduled halt at the station.

Discovering that the woman was experiencing severe labor pains and her condition was worsening, they promptly called the emergency helpline '112'.

The woman and her husband were helped off the train at Ambala Cantonment station, with a female constable providing assistance throughout the process.

A doctor from a nearby hospital arrived at the scene. The woman successfully delivered a healthy baby girl at the station under medical supervision and with the support of women police personnel.

Following the delivery, the mother and newborn were transported by ambulance to the Civil Hospital in Ambala Cantonment for further care and treatment.

Hospital sources have confirmed that both the mother and baby remain in stable condition.
