Indian Soldiers Honor Fallen Comrade by Fulfilling Brother's Role at Sister's Wedding

In a touching display of solidarity, soldiers in Himachal Pradesh stepped into the role of a brother at the wedding of a woman whose sibling had fallen in combat in Arunachal Pradesh. The emotional ceremony left many attendees in tears as they witnessed this powerful gesture.

Aradhana's wedding in a scenic Himachal town proceeded beautifully, despite the painful absence of her brother, Ashish Kumar. Filling this void, servicemen from Ashish's regiment along with veterans arrived at the wedding venue in Bharli village, Sirmaur district, determined to provide the brotherly support she deserved.

The military men from Paonta and Shillai seamlessly assumed brotherly duties, accompanying the bride to the wedding mandap – traditionally a brother's responsibility. This heartfelt gesture honored what Ashish would have done had he been present.

Beyond their ceremonial support, the soldiers presented Aradhana with a fixed deposit as a wedding gift, symbolically representing her brother's blessing. This unexpected tribute overwhelmed everyone present, with many unable to hold back tears.

Completing their commitment, the soldiers also escorted the bride to her in-laws' home, fulfilling all brotherly obligations with devotion and respect.

Ashish Kumar had made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in Operation Alert in Arunachal Pradesh in February 2024.
