Mumbai:
A horrific murder unfolded in Maharashtra where a three-year-old boy and his 13-year-old brother witnessed their father being brutally attacked by approximately six men, reportedly due to an unresolved business dispute. The assailants exhibited extreme violence by severing Syed Imran Shafiq's fingers, cutting his wrist, before fatally stabbing him.
The tragic incident took place near the railway station in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city on Wednesday when Shafiq was out with his children. His auto was suddenly intercepted by a car in the Silk Mill Colony area. Five to six individuals emerged from the vehicle and forcibly removed Shafiq and his children from the auto. What ensued was a scene of unspeakable brutality.
The attackers assaulted Shafiq with weapons while his young sons watched in terror. Despite his attempts to defend himself by trying to grab their weapons, his efforts were futile. The perpetrators proceeded to chop off his fingers, slash his right wrist, and inflict multiple blows to his head and neck.
After repeatedly stabbing him, the attackers abandoned Shafiq to die beneath a foot overbridge.
Authorities believe the murder stemmed from an ongoing rivalry related to a gas business dispute. Acting swiftly, police apprehended three suspects within nine hours of the crime.
According to police, the primary suspect, Mujeeb Don, has a history of criminal charges. The other two arrested individuals were identified as Mujeeb's brother, Saddam Hussain Moinuddin, and his brother-in-law, Sheikh Irfan Sheikh Suleman.
