Experience India's Premier Classical Dance Festival at Delhi's Historic Purana Qila

The historic Purana Qila is transforming into a magnificent venue for Indian classical dance with the debut of the "Indraprastha Nritya Mahotsav," commencing Friday.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will inaugurate this cultural festival, which aims to attract diverse audiences—ranging from experienced art aficionados and culture enthusiasts to newcomers and international visitors. The event celebrates India's classical dance heritage by featuring legendary performers alongside rising talents. This three-day festival creates a unique blend of history, tradition, and artistry, presenting a "rich tapestry of rhythm, expression, and movement."

The performance schedule includes India's most acclaimed dancers, featuring Padma awardees, Sangeet Natak Akademi recipients, Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar winners, and prominent Doordarshan-graded artists.

According to organizers, "Notable performances include renowned artists such as Padma awardees Madhavi Mudgal (Odissi) and Jayarama Rao (Kuchipudi), alongside Sangeet Natak Akademi awardees Sujata Mohapatra (Odissi) and Neena Prasad (Mohiniyattam)."

Additionally, a special presentation titled "Kathak Parampara," choreographed by Kathak master and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Saswati Sen, will showcase India's leading Kathak dancers, including Deepak Maharaj, Gauri Diwakar, Monisa Nayak, and Abhimanyu Lal.

The festival will conclude on October 5.
