Injured Man Bleeds Outside Madhya Pradesh Police Station While Officers Wash Car: A Case of Shocking Negligence

In Bhopal, an alarming incident at Daboh police station in Madhya Pradesh's Bhind district has sparked public outrage, with locals condemning what they describe as extreme negligence and insensitivity from law enforcement officers.

The situation, which many are referring to as a clear example of "MP ajab hai, sabse gajab hai" (MP is strange, strangest of all), involved a seriously wounded man left unattended outside the police station while officers reportedly prioritized washing their vehicle.

The disturbing event occurred Tuesday in Barthara village within Daboh police jurisdiction. Reports indicate that a long-running property dispute escalated to violence when Narayan Parihar and Komal Parihar assaulted their relative, Shyamu Parihar, using an axe and sticks during his construction of a wall.

Severely bleeding, Shyamu was rescued by his brother Ramu, who immediately transported him to the nearby police station seeking urgent assistance and protection. However, witnesses were appalled when, instead of receiving prompt medical attention or case filing, they encountered shocking indifference.

Bystanders claim that police personnel, including sub-inspector Ravindra Kumar Manjhi, appeared more concerned with washing their official vehicle than attending to the critically injured victim.

Shyamu Parihar remained outside the station in evident agony while an officer focused on cleaning a car.

Despite the emergency situation, the first information report (FIR) was reportedly filed only after a full hour's delay and multiple appeals from the victim's family. More troublingly, local residents alleged that officers demanded payment to register the complaint, and when the family refused, authorities allegedly reversed the situation by naming the victim as the accused.

The victim's family expressed their outrage regarding both the significant delay and alleged extortion attempts, stating that this negligence put Shyamu Parihar's life at serious risk.

"While my brother needed immediate help, they were negotiating with us," Ramu Parihar stated, adding that they have directly requested intervention from Superintendent of Police Asit Yadav for justice.

Acknowledging these serious allegations, inspector Rakesh Sharma admitted that the sub-inspector's conduct was inappropriate and should never have occurred. However, no disciplinary action against the involved officers has yet been confirmed.

This incident has generated widespread anger throughout the region, with community members demanding a thorough investigation and appropriate disciplinary measures. Numerous residents characterized the event as not merely negligence but an explicit abuse of authority, illustrating why public confidence in law enforcement continues to remain fragile.
