In a shocking incident in Kerala's coastal district, a 17-year-old girl allegedly stabbed her mother, causing serious injuries, after a disagreement regarding mobile phone usage, according to police reports on Wednesday.

The disturbing event occurred at their home in Vadackal within the jurisdiction of South Police Station. The teenager is currently enrolled as a plus-one student.

Police officials confirmed that the victim has been hospitalized at the Government Medical College with significant stab wounds, though her condition has been described as stable.

"After receiving notification about the incident, we immediately proceeded to the location. We were informed that the daughter allegedly stabbed her mother following a confrontation about her mobile phone usage. This information requires verification," stated a police officer involved in the case.

The officer further explained that the mother's testimony is essential for the investigation, and subsequent actions will depend on her statement. "Once the injured woman's health improves sufficiently, we will record her statement," police officials added.
