An 18-year-old man in Dhenkanal district, Odisha, tragically died from electrocution while attempting to visit his girlfriend's residence.

The deceased, identified as Biswajit Behera, had reportedly gone to meet his girlfriend on Sunday. While climbing over a wall to enter her house, he made contact with a live electrical wire and immediately collapsed.

After the incident, Biswajit's family members suspected foul play and formally reported the matter to police, suggesting that the girl's relatives might have been involved in his death.

Abhinav Sonkar, Superintendent of Police, confirmed that authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances.

"Initial evidence suggests electrocution as the cause of death, though the definitive cause will only be established after a complete investigation. The incident occurred late on September 28, although the victim's family has submitted a complaint alleging murder," stated the police officer.
