BJP Refutes Rahul Gandhi's 'Vote Chori' Claims After Bihar's Final Voter List Publication

The BJP has launched a strong counterattack against Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party following the Election Commission's release of Bihar's final voter list. BJP's IT chief Amit Malviya pointed out that Congress filed no formal objections during the Special Intensive Revision process, despite Gandhi's allegations of voter manipulation. With 47 lakh voters removed from the electoral roll, Congress leaders continue to question the revision's transparency while the Election Commission maintains the process was legitimate.

'Vote Chori' A Sham: BJP Slams Rahul Gandhi Over Bihar's Final Voter List

Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has been accused by the BJP of making false claims regarding Election Commission irregularities.

New Delhi:

The BJP has unleashed a fierce critique against the Congress following the Election Commission's publication of Bihar's final voter roll after completing the Special Intensive Revision. Amit Malviya, a prominent BJP leader who heads the party's IT department, has highlighted that the Congress failed to submit any formal complaints or objections to the Election Commission regarding voter list inclusions or deletions.

"As the Election Commission concludes the SIR exercise in Bihar and publishes the final voter roll, let it be noted - the Congress party did not file a single complaint or objection, in the prescribed format, for either inclusion or deletion," Malviya stated in his post on X.

Malviya further criticized Rahul Gandhi, stating: "This exposes Rahul Gandhi's disingenuous politics. His Yatra wasn't about democracy; it was about misleading people and shielding illegal migrants. A direct threat to India's national security." He specifically referenced Gandhi's Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar, which is preparing for elections.

The BJP leader continued his attack, describing the 'Vote Chori' narrative as "nothing but a sham - a pretext to mask impending electoral defeats and undermine India's faith in the democratic process. A page straight out of George Soros's playbook, which Rahul Gandhi foolishly believes can resurrect his beleaguered party."

Previously, Gandhi had alleged that the Election Commission, working in conjunction with the ruling BJP, had engaged in electoral irregularities by manipulating voter lists through unauthorized additions and removals. The Election Commission has firmly rejected these allegations.

Bihar Congress chief Rajesh Ram has criticized the Special Intensive Revision process, calling it deceptive from its inception. "It was a process neither demanded by the public nor by political parties. Despite this, it was conducted with such carelessness and lack of transparency. Its fairness and transparency remain questionable. Our workers will thoroughly assess across the state how many names were removed and added to the list through SIR. This issue will not end here."

Upon publishing the final voter list, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar expressed gratitude to electors, political parties, and other stakeholders. The final list contains 7.42 crore electors, compared to 7.89 crore voters as of June 24.

Senior Congress leader Manish Tewari has questioned the Election Commission regarding the deleted voters: "Who are these 47 Lakh Voters who have been deleted from the Final electoral roll in Bihar? @ECISVEEP must break it down into those who have shifted to other states, those who are dead and ghost voters on the rolls. It is this level of granularity of process that is essential for @ECISVEEP to attempt to commence the process of redeeming its absent credibility."
