Amid reports of extensive rainfall damage in Uttarakhand's Dehradun, a distressing video has surfaced showing a group of laborers being swept away by the turbulent Tons river. According to available information, approximately six individuals are feared dead in this tragic incident.
The footage depicts around 10 workers stranded on a tractor stuck in the middle of the swollen river. The trapped individuals can be seen desperately signaling and calling for help as onlookers on the riverbank attempt to organize a rescue. Tragically, before any assistance could reach them, the powerful current overturns the tractor, sweeping the laborers away. Witnesses on the shore are seen running in panic and shouting as the vehicle capsizes and the men disappear beneath the rushing waters.

Early reports indicate the workers were involved in mining operations, though complete details about how they became stranded in the river remain unclear.
Overnight heavy rainfall has caused significant destruction to infrastructure and homes throughout Dehradun, Mussoorie, and Mal Devta regions. A bridge near the Law College in Dehradun's Prem Nagar has collapsed. Rescue teams have been deployed and nearly 400 people evacuated from affected areas.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reported that all rivers across the state are flowing above danger levels following the heavy downpours. "Roads have been damaged at 25 to 30 locations. Access routes are severed. Residential and government properties have sustained damage. Daily life is severely disrupted. Rescue teams are working urgently to restore normal conditions," he stated. "The state government is supporting all affected families. Administrative authorities remain on high alert, with NDRF, SDRF, police and local officials actively responding," the Chief Minister further added.

The Chief Minister's office has confirmed that he has informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the crisis in Uttarakhand, with the Central government pledging complete assistance.
