A 35-year-old man from Gujarat was arrested for performing dangerous stunts and harassing female passengers on a Mumbai local train at Borivali Railway Station. The incident, which occurred on September 11, was captured on video and went viral on social media, leading to his identification through facial recognition technology and subsequent arrest by Railway Police who emphasized their commitment to women's safety on public transport.

A 35-year-old male individual has been apprehended for conducting dangerous stunts and engaging in harassment of female passengers in the women's compartment of a commuter train at Borivali Railway Station in Mumbai, according to officials.

The suspect has been identified as Nathu Govind Hansa, who resides in Valsad, Gujarat, as confirmed by the Borivali Government Railway Police (GRP).

His arrest followed the widespread circulation of video footage showing Hansa's inappropriate behavior toward women on the local train.

The brief video recording depicts the accused traveling on the footboard of the luggage section directly adjacent to the women's carriage. A fellow traveler recorded the incident on their mobile device, which subsequently went viral across social media platforms, generating significant public outrage.

During the incident, the man was recorded making offensive and derogatory comments directed at female travelers in the ladies' compartment.

Following the emergence of the video, Railway Police authorities promptly initiated action and detained him.

Senior Police Inspector Datta Khuperkar from Borivali GRP stated that the incident occurred on September 11. A female passenger, who was traveling on a Dadar Fast Local from Virar to Andheri at approximately 6:00 pm, reported the disturbing behavior.

The accused, positioned at the doorway of the adjoining luggage compartment, began performing dangerous stunts, looking into the women's compartment, making vulgar remarks, and creating an uncomfortable environment for female passengers.

Law enforcement officials utilized CCTV recordings and facial recognition technology to identify the suspect and assembled a specialized team to locate him. He was arrested on Monday after his photograph was uploaded to the Face Recognition System (FRS) and successfully matched with the surveillance footage.

Railway Police representatives emphasized that ensuring the safety of female commuters remains their highest priority, adding that such incidents would not be tolerated. They urged passengers to promptly report similar occurrences to enable swift and strict action against offenders.
