Zubeen Garg's Wife Demands Investigation Into Singer's Death: "Want To Know What Happened In His Last Moments"

Zubeen Garg's wife expressed gratitude to the people across the state for their overwhelming support during this difficult time.

On Monday, Garima Saikia Garg, the wife of renowned singer Zubeen Garg, stated that the family seeks answers regarding the circumstances surrounding his final moments that led to his tragic death. She emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the matter.

"We need to understand what happened to him, why it occurred, and how such negligence was allowed to happen. We deserve answers," Garima told reporters following the 11th day rituals held for the singer in Guwahati.

She insisted that all individuals who were present with him on the yacht prior to his death and at the event "must provide explanations."

"Why didn't they pull him from the water when they knew he wasn't in a condition to swim? They could have easily done so, as it wouldn't have been difficult to redirect him," she questioned.

Garima revealed that Siddhartha Sharma, Zubeen's manager, was aware that the singer should avoid proximity to water or fire as these elements could potentially trigger his epileptic seizures.

"I demand justice! I want a proper investigation and answers to all our questions. I have complete confidence in the investigative process," Garima stated.

She mentioned that the family had trusted those accompanying him to ensure his safety, but "now we realize they failed to do so."

When asked if Zubeen had taken his prescribed medication, his wife said she wasn't certain whether he had taken them or not, but confirmed that his medicines were sent with him when he traveled to Singapore.

"Since August 2024, after experiencing a seizure attack, he was on one particular medication. I always made sure his medicines were accessible to him wherever he went, whether at home, in the car, or at the studio," she explained.

She also noted that they have not yet received the singer's mobile phone.

Garima shared that the singer had spoken with her the day before the incident but hadn't mentioned any plans for a yacht trip.

"He typically gets very excited about such activities, so I'm surprised he didn't mention it. Perhaps he wasn't aware of the plan," she suggested.

Garima mentioned that she's drawing strength from Zubeen's own words, as he always described himself as "a tiger" and encouraged her to be "a tigress in challenging times."

She concluded by expressing her sincere gratitude to the people across the state for providing immense support and strength to the grieving family during this time.
