Six Militants Arrested in Manipur: Security Forces Capture Members of People's Liberation Army and Other Banned Organizations

Six militants from different banned organizations have been apprehended across three districts in Manipur's Imphal Valley, according to police reports released Sunday.
In Bishnupur district, authorities arrested Nongmaithem Gyaneshwor Singh, a 49-year-old active member of the outlawed People's Liberation Army (PLA), at Kumbi Bazar on Friday. Officials stated he had been providing logistical assistance to the organization.
The following day, security forces detained another PLA operative, Laishram Jiten Singh, 56, in the Lamdeng Mayai Leikai area of Imphal West district.
A third PLA member, Moirangthem Chaobi Singh, aged 50, was captured in Khurai Konsam Leikai within Imphal East district. Authorities revealed he had previously instigated mob actions against security personnel.
Additionally, police arrested Khaidem Sunila Devi, a 55-year-old female member of the prohibited NRFM group, from Mantripukhri Friends Colony in Imphal East district. Officers confiscated a mobile phone during her arrest.
In further operations on Saturday, security forces apprehended two active members of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (Noyon) from their respective residences. Md Mujibur Rahaman, 44, was arrested in Lilong, Thoubal district, while Sorenshangbam Bungcha, also 44, was detained in Naorem Leikai, Imphal West district. Authorities seized a .32 pistol with magazine from their possession.
The Manipur Police shared details of these arrests through their official social media account, including information about the suspects and items recovered during the operations.
