The family of former Indian President Pratibha Patil has accused Maharashtra Minister Jaykumar Rawal of illegally occupying their 33-acre ancestral farmland in Dhule district despite a court ruling in their favor. The Patil family claims they are being prevented from taking possession of their property through political influence and intimidation, highlighting concerns about law enforcement's inaction in the face of ministerial power.

Pratibha Patil's Family Accuses Maharashtra Minister Of Seizing 33 Acres Of Ancestral Land

The family of former President Pratibha Patil has come forward with grave accusations against Maharashtra Minister Jaykumar Rawal, claiming he and his associates have unlawfully taken possession of their ancestral property in Dhule district's Shirpur taluka.

During a press conference, the former President's brother and nephew revealed that despite obtaining a favorable court judgment, BJP Minister Jaykumar Rawal continues to occupy their land through political power and threatening tactics.

The dispute centers around 33 acres of agricultural land jointly owned by Pratibha Patil and her siblings, which has been contested for some time between the two families.

According to the Patil family, Rawal had previously contested ownership of the property through legal channels, but the court verdict upheld the Patils' rightful ownership. Despite this ruling, they allege that Rawal and his supporters have refused to comply with the court's decision.

Uday Patil, nephew of the former President, stated: "When we attempted to take possession of our land as mandated by the court order, we were forcibly removed by individuals supporting Jaykumar Rawal."

"Despite the legal decision in our favor, he persists in harassing us with assistance from local intimidators."

He further claimed that Rawal, a significant BJP figure and current MLA from Sindkheda constituency, is abusing his ministerial authority to undermine their legitimate claim.

"He was illegally cultivating our land. Now that the court has ruled in our favor, they refuse to surrender the property. They've even dispatched threatening individuals to intimidate us," added Uday Patil.

He continued, "The local police are entirely backing him. When we filed a complaint about the situation, they took no action whatsoever. If such treatment can be directed at a former President's family, what recourse does an ordinary citizen have?"

The Patil family is calling for immediate action from higher governmental authorities to enforce the court's ruling and restore their rightful possession of the land.

As of this report, Minister Jaykumar Rawal has not issued any response to these serious allegations from the former President's family.
