The Haryana government marked Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay's birth anniversary by introducing comprehensive welfare initiatives centered on women's empowerment and inclusive growth. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini officially inaugurated the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, designed to enhance women's financial independence, alongside a new mobile application that streamlines the registration process.

During the launch event, Chief Minister Saini emphasized that the initiative embodies the 'Antyodaya' philosophy, which focuses on uplifting society's most marginalized members.

"A nation achieves true greatness only when its women are protected, educated, and held in high regard. Haryana remains committed to ensuring women and daughters become empowered, self-sufficient, and fully integrated into mainstream society. The Lado Lakshmi Yojana represents a significant step toward this vision," stated the Chief Minister.

In its initial phase, approximately 20 lakh women between 23 and 60 years of age from families with annual incomes up to Rs 1 lakh will receive monthly payments of Rs 2,100 directly into their bank accounts. Every qualifying woman within a household can submit an application, with no restrictions on the number of beneficiaries. The program has been allocated an annual budget of Rs 5,000 crore for the fiscal year 2025-26.

To maximize accessibility, the government has launched a mobile application that handles applications, verification processes, and grievance resolution, ensuring a completely digital experience. Women can register without needing to visit government offices or service centers. Support systems include a toll-free helpline (18001802231) and a dedicated assistance line (01724880500). Within hours of the application's release, approximately 50,000 downloads and 8,000 applications were already recorded.

The Chief Minister encouraged younger women to prepare for future eligibility. "Daughters under 23 years should celebrate their 23rd birthday by applying for this beneficial scheme," he advised.

During the event, Mr. Saini also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects valued at Rs 326.25 crore. These projects encompass health sector improvements, including the renovation of 10 healthcare facilities and new initiatives under the Public Works Department and Urban Local Bodies.

Highlighting the central government's commitment to women's advancement, the Chief Minister referenced several initiatives implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that in Haryana, over 2.13 lakh women have already become "Lakhpati Didis," while 100 women have received drones and corresponding training under the "Drone Didi" program.

The Chief Minister also mentioned other women-centric policies in Haryana, including free education for girls through post-graduation, a comprehensive creche policy, the establishment of 33 women-only police stations, and a dedicated 1091 helpline service.
