Bihar's Women Have 2 Brothers, Nitish And Modi: PM At Women's Scheme Launch

Under the scheme, 75 lakh women in Bihar received Rs 10,000 each for livelihood activities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a strong criticism of the RJD on Friday, highlighting that women in Bihar faced significant hardships during their governance. He urged women voters to prevent Lalu Prasad's party and its coalition partners from regaining power in the eastern state.

PM Modi addressed Bihar's women virtually while launching the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana via video conference from Delhi. Through this program, 75 lakh women across the state received Rs 10,000 each to support their livelihood activities.

"Women of Bihar endured tremendous difficulties under RJD governance. Infrastructure was lacking, and law enforcement was inadequate. However, today women experience safety and security under Nitish Kumar's administration because the rule of law is maintained. Therefore, they must ensure RJD and its allies never return to power," PM Modi stated.

Emphasizing the NDA government's commitment to women's empowerment in Bihar, he mentioned that the state would soon have the highest number of 'Lakhpati Didis' in India.

He announced that the 75 lakh beneficiaries of the scheme would receive an additional Rs 2 lakh along with training to enhance their entrepreneurial capabilities.

"Bihar's women now have two brothers, Nitish and Modi, who are working tirelessly for their betterment," he declared.

PM Modi highlighted that initiatives such as Ujjwala Yojana, free ration distribution to 8.5 crore Bihar residents, and Ayushman Bharat have significantly improved living conditions in the state.

The introduction of this new scheme ahead of the Bihar assembly elections is particularly significant as women constitute a substantial portion of the electorate. The state assembly elections are scheduled for later this year.
