Self-Styled Godman Chaitanyananda Saraswati Accused of Sexual Harassment by Multiple Women at Delhi Management Institute

A 2016 molestation case reveals disturbing allegations against 62-year-old self-styled godman Chaitanyananda Saraswati, who is currently wanted for sexually harassing 17 students at his Delhi management institute. Despite police raids across multiple states and a Lookout Circular, the accused remains at large after evading similar charges in 2009 and 2016.

New Delhi:

A woman who lodged a molestation complaint against self-styled godman Chaitanyananda Saraswati in 2016 has described that he "had vulture-like eyes" directed at her.

She further claimed that the 62-year-old Chaitanyananda Saraswati, also known as Swami Parthasarathy, who faces accusations of sexually harassing 17 students at his private management institute located in Vasant Kunj, southwest Delhi, sent inappropriate messages to her and addressed her as "baby" and "sweet girl".

According to the first information report (FIR) she filed, the woman, who was 20 years old at that time, stated she left the Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management after only eight months.

"It was the most difficult period of my life. As soon as I joined the institute, Baba began sending me obscene messages. He called me 'baby' and 'sweet girl.' After classes concluded at 6:30 pm, he would summon me to his office and harass me," she recounted.

She mentioned that Chaitanyananda would tell her she was "very talented" and promised to take her to Dubai for studies, covering all expenses.

"I didn't want this at all, but his staff continued to pressure me. Baba confiscated my mobile phone and forced me to live alone in the hostel. I wasn't permitted to talk to anyone. He would call me at night on the phone in my room. He had a vulture-like eye on me," she stated.

She also alleged that Chaitanyananda discussed taking her out for dinner and staying in "nice hotels".

"I was very scared," she admitted.

The woman claimed he attempted to touch her "inappropriately".

"Baba asked me to accompany him to Mathura. But I didn't go and fled, abandoning all my belongings in the hostel without informing anyone," she revealed.

She explained that students associated with him then approached her and began pressuring her to return.

"Baba provided them with my number and address. But my father drove them away," she added.

Police records indicate Chaitanyananda evaded previous molestation charges in both 2009 and 2016, allegedly utilizing his influence and connections to avoid prosecution.

In the current situation, 17 women collectively filed complaints in Delhi in early August. At that time, Chaitanyananda was thought to be in London but was later traced to Agra.

He initially submitted an anticipatory bail application in the Delhi High Court but withdrew it within days.

Delhi Police have conducted raids across Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan. A Lookout Circular has been issued to prevent him from leaving the country. He remains at large.
