Bhopal:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bhainsola village in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, September 17, to inaugurate several transformative initiatives focused on enhancing women's health, tribal welfare, and the textile industry.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will introduce the 'Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar evam Poshan' campaign alongside the 'Adi Seva Parv'.
The centerpiece of the event will be the foundation laying ceremony for India's first and largest Greenfield Integrated PM MITRA Park, encompassing 2,158 acres in Dhar.
This extensive textile park is projected to provide direct benefits to over 3.5 lakh cotton farmers throughout Madhya Pradesh.
Rather than selling unprocessed cotton, farmers will now witness their harvest transformed into yarn, textiles, and clothing with finished products reaching global markets. Leading textile companies have already pledged investment proposals amounting to Rs 23,146 crore for this development.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, extending welcome to the Prime Minister, stated, "We aspire for Madhya Pradesh to become the hub of the cotton industry, ensuring tangible benefits for our farmers. This initiative will be marked as a significant milestone in the state's development journey."
Madhya Pradesh produces approximately half of India's non-GM organic cotton and contributes 24 percent to the global supply. Cotton cultivation extends across 6 lakh hectares in 18 districts. In 2024-25 alone, the state's textile exports surpassed Rs 9,200 crore.
The PM MITRA Park is designed as an exemplary industrial township featuring cutting-edge facilities including a 20 MLD common effluent treatment facility, a 10 MVA solar power installation, modern transportation networks, 81 ready-to-operate units, and residential accommodations for workers, with special consideration for women.
Officials project that the park will create employment for 3 lakh individuals, with 60 percent of positions reserved for women. The project is regarded as a potential transformative force for tribal and youth-dominated regions including Dhar, Jhabua, Ratlam, and Ujjain, promising a contemporary industrial ecosystem grounded in the state's cotton economy.
Chief Minister Yadav further added, "Historically, Indore, Dewas, and Ujjain housed substantial mills where cotton was processed into fabric and garments. The current vision aims to revitalize that entire cycle by establishing industries around each harvest. This approach will not only empower farmers but also revolutionize livelihoods."
For Madhya Pradesh, a state with a rich textile heritage spanning from Chanderi and Maheshwari weaves to Bagh prints and Batik, the project represents an integration of tradition with modernity.
As PM Modi establishes the foundation stone on his birthday, this initiative is being presented both as a national contribution and a landmark in Madhya Pradesh's progression toward becoming a textile center of international significance.
